For Filmmakers Erika Hamilton & Christian Loubek, storytelling took another level of growth with the reckoning in a post-George Floyd world. Suddenly their blissful bi-racial, love story faced headwinds and the uninvited obstacles provided fertile ground for their art.

Erika's first film OUT OF TUNE is an awkwardly personal story about a proud Black woman who hides her love for the classic rock bank Journey. A fun and poignant take on the boundaries of racial identity, her script took Gold at the International Page Screenwriting Awards and is currently being developed into a television series. Erika conceived, wrote & played the lead in OUT OF TUNE and Christian served as EP.

Their second film BELIEF is tribute to the transcendent power of mothers. It is an emotionally resonant story that recontextualizes a mother’s strength and sacrifice. According to Movie Blogger, ‘A mother’s journey has never been this essential’. It marks the first-time Christian has ever written and directed a film of his own telling. Naturally he found inspiration in the strength and sacrifice of Erika after she gave birth to their children. Erika served as the lead actress and producer.
